Who We Are

Who Are We?

Who is Carolyn Wren?
Hi I am Carolyn Wren.
I was born in England. My parents loved to travel as my dad spent many years in the navy. By the time I reached the age of 12 we had travelled pretty much around the world on cruise ships.
This sounds fun and exciting unless like me you can get sea sick sitting in a bathtub. Lets just say boats do not feature highly in my books.
I still love to travel, but I use planes. All of my life I have written stories in my head. I would rewrite and add characters to TV shows, edit and change novels I was reading, invent scenarios and scenes to amuse myself on long journeys. But strangely I never wrote any of them down. About three years ago I woke up with a scene so clear in my head I knew I had to put it down on paper. Now, what should I do with this one page of prose? I know, I will email it to some friends. The friends approved, in fact they asked what book it was from. I shyly admitted it was my own work and the reaction was immediate...please write the next bit! I did and I have not stopped writing since. In 2011 I joined the RWA, a week later I entered my first writing contest the Emerald and I won. I entered my second contest, The Daphne Du Maurier Awards for Excellence in Mystery Suspense and I got a place in the finals.
I am thrilled to announce my debut novella The Protectors Book one, The Diplomat’s Daughter will be released by Secret Cravings Publishing in November 2012.

Welcome to our blog, I hope you enjoy your stay.

Who is AP Castell?
My mother tells me I walked before I was nine months old...
Ever since I can remember, even before I had perfected writing my own name, I was telling tales of adventure, populated with imaginary characters and creatures. Sharing a bedroom with two younger sisters it was left to me to provide entertainment when we were meant to be sleeping. To say they were a tough audience is an understatement; every story had to be fresh with a different plot and new characters.
As the years passed, so too did the narratives, over shadowed by the dramas of adolescences and the discovery of romance novels by authors such as, Nora Roberts and Susan Mallery. Later, the realities of adulthood would become a distraction. It wasn’t until I became a mother, that I regaled my own children with tales of fairies, clumsy pirates and fearsome dinosaurs.
Over the years I have been fortunate to travel with my husband and children to many fascinating countries. Now that my children are older, and time is once more my own, I find myself compelled to share the stories that live and breathe in my imagination. With an understanding husband, I am now free to pursue my dreams and I mean that quite literally. At present I am writing a romantic fantasy that started with a dream, which rapidly evolved into a trilogy.
Welcome to the world of AP Castell, here you will encounter works of fiction that can only be described as dramatic, suspenseful and enchanting.Whether the genre is Fantasy, Contemporary, Rural, Suspense or Historical the common theme is guaranteed to be ROMANCE.
Who is Jennie Jones?

Jennie Jones (that’s me) was born and brought up in Wales. Not quite rural, not quite citified - a happy medium. After that, I became an actor and worked for a number of years in London and around the UK donning costumes, shoes, hats, and the occasional corset; becoming somebody else for two hours, seven shows a week. No wonder I turned from acting to writing when that stage of my life changed and I became a wife and mother - and an Australian.
Why do I write romance? Well, I think it chose me. Writing gives me the chance to fictionalise what I know, and what I imagine. Adding romance to my stories was an obvious choice, given that I've been hooked on romance since the age of about three (OK, maybe five). There's a whole world of fiction out there, waiting for me to chase it, grab it and put it onto paper.
What I love to write about: I take the contemporary world of my heroes and heroines and the settings they find themselves in a whisper further and explore the humour that is sometimes necessary for growth in the many emotional adventures they find themselves in. My characters are just like you and me. Their stories could be our stories; their world, our world.
Who is Whitney K-E?
Mr Grumpy and I
Hi, I'm Whitney. I was born and have lived in Australia all my life and although I have always lived in the city, I grew up with a passion for horses, dogs and rural life (I think it has something to do with my ancestors being dairy farmers...).
I've been writing for the last three years and have been reading romance since I was 13. I have explored a few sub-genres. I've written a paranormal and started a Historical, but my Rural/Contemporary series set in the Ireland are my current passion. There are four novels in the series and I just had my first, What Happens in Ireland, contracted with Secret Cravings Publishing.
I'm not quite sure where my love for everything and anything Irish came from, but I have a suspicion that I might owe it to some ancestor I don't know about. Have you guessed that I'm a redhead yet?
I like to think I have a good sense of humour and I hope this comes out most in the series of highly-embarrassing-and-humiliating scenarios I force my Aussie heroines to bear.
If you love wide-open spaces, handsome Irishmen who frequently use the charms they were born with and Aussie woman who dish out just as much as they are dished, you will definitely love my Irish series.
As a writer, you might call me OCD. I think of myself as highly dedicated. Writing is one of my strongest passions. The stories I create are adventures I can get lost in and escape the greater world. And when I'm astride a horse or surrounded by wide-open spaces, I feel the same.
Well, hope you've enjoyed reading a little about me and I hope to bring you some interesting posts that give you an insight into the life of a Romance Author or even help you craft your next novel.
